It focused on Ritsuki, a 3.5-year-old girl raised in a Japanese-Indonesian household, whose daily interactions were documented on the <em>Ueno Family Japan</em> YouTube channel. This research used psycholinguistics approach, which emphasized that language development was shaped by meaningful interaction and the frequency of use in real-life settings. Using a qualitative case study method, the research examines the child's natural language use across various everyday contexts. For data collection, three video recordings were selected for analysis based on the presence of verbal interactions between Ritsuki and her parents or peers. Each video was transcribed to capture Ritsuki’s utterances and to identify patterns of language use. The analysis focused on lexical choices and contextual cues that indicated language preference or dominance. The findings revealed that Ritsuki demonstrated Japanese dominance during structured routines, such as greetings and activities with her Japanese-speaking father. Indonesian was more commonly used in informal, relaxed conversations with her Indonesian mother and during peer interactions. The purpose of this study is to describe the use of sound patterns on vowels and consonants of English words. This study identifies the sound shifting produced by the Myanmar speaker. The data were collected by using observation method. The technique used was the recording and note-taking. Then, the data were analyzed by using phonetic articulatory identity method. The theories used were Roach, Fasold and Connor-Linton, Finegan, Ladefoged and Disner, and Skandera and Burleigh's theories related to the pronunciation corresponding to English phonetic symbols. Furthermore, the results of data analysis were presented by using descriptive narrative. The phonological issues occurred in term of deletion, insertion, and alteration. There were some sounds shifted and neutralized to the speaker’s first language. Menggunakan pendekatan analisis wacana kritis dengan model Norman Fairclough, penelitian ini mengeksplorasi bagaimana media membingkai kebijakan tersebut dan dampaknya terhadap publik. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa masing-masing media memberikan penekanan yang berbeda terhadap kebijakan ini. <em>Tempo.co</em> cenderung fokus pada sisi kebijakan dan posisi pemerintah, sementara <em>Kompas.com</em> dan <em>CNN Indonesia</em> memberikan ruang lebih untuk kritik dan reaksi dari pihak sekolah dan masyarakat. <em>Detik.com</em> lebih menekankan latar belakang dan dampak keputusan pencopotan kepala sekolah yang terkait dengan kebijakan tersebut. Novel ini menyoroti perjuangan Mariamin, seorang perempuan Batak yang terbelenggu oleh norma adat yang menempatkan perempuan pada posisi subordinat. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan feminisme, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap bentuk-bentuk ketidakadilan gender yang dialami perempuan dalam masyarakat Batak, khususnya dalam sistem pewarisan, pernikahan, dan pengambilan keputusan yang didominasi oleh laki-laki.&nbsp; Data diperoleh melalui studi pustaka dan dianalisis menggunakan metode analisis isi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa novel ini secara kritis mengungkap struktur sosial adat Batak yang membatasi kebebasan perempuan. Tiga isu utama yang disoroti adalah ketidakadilan dalam hak waris yang mengesampingkan perempuan, keterbatasan peran perempuan dalam pernikahan yang ditentukan oleh pihak laki-laki, serta dominasi laki-laki dalam proses pengambilan keputusan.&nbsp; Melalui tokoh Mariamin, Merari Siregar menggambarkan ketegangan antara ketaatan terhadap adat dan keinginan individu untuk memperoleh kebahagiaan serta kebebasan. Novel ini tidak hanya merefleksikan realitas sosial perempuan Batak pada masanya tetapi juga berperan sebagai kritik terhadap sistem patriarki yang masih bertahan. This study is expected to be useful as an additional reference for research purposes in the field of humanities and to increase knowledge about the concept of exorcism from different perspectives. The discussion focuses on constructing the meaning of exorcism through the Indonesian horror film Kuasa Gelap (2024). Scenes, plots, and dialogs gathered from the film are used as primary data to be analyzed and discussed. This study, which is categorized as library research, utilizes Stuart Hall's representation theory in analyzing and interpreting the representation of exorcism in the film. The meaning of exorcism is generally discussed from a religious perspective and the exploration of its meaning in this study is related to human life, not the supernatural or magical powers. The results of the data analysis reveal that the concept of exorcism in the film represents the unwillingness to accept the loss of a family member, strong determination for good intentions, and sincerity in praying.</p> Rudy Rudy Copyright (c) 2025 IdeBahasa 2025-06-20 2025-06-20 7 1 56 67 10.37296/idebahasa.v7i1.303 ILLOCUTIONARY ACTS OF MILES MORALES IN “SPIDER-MAN: INTO THE SPIDER-VERSE”: IDENTITY REPRESENTATION THROUGH SPEECH ACTS https://jurnal.idebahasa.or.id/index.php/Idebahasa/article/view/309 <p>This study aims to identify and analyze the illocutionary speech acts performed by the main character, Miles Morales, in the animated film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, and to interpret how these acts contribute to the construction of his identity. The data source consists of Miles Morales’ utterances throughout the film. The study applies Searle’s classification of speech acts as its theoretical framework, which includes five categories: assertive, directive, expressive, commissive, and declarative. Using a qualitative descriptive method within a pragmatic approach, data were collected through careful observation and transcription of relevant dialogue. The collected utterances were then classified and analyzed based on the five types of illocutionary acts. The findings are presented in the form of percentages to show the distribution of each speech act category. The results indicate that assertive (36%) and expressive (32%) acts are the most frequently used, followed by directive (28%) and commissive (4%), with no declarative acts identified. These findings suggest that Miles Morales constructs his identity largely through statements of belief and emotional expression, reflecting a character in emotional transition and self-discovery. Adapted by Habiburrahman El Shirazy. The main focus is love, religion, culture, and feminism, related to the movie Ayat-Ayat Cinta. Using a qualitative method, this study adopted a discourse analysis approach to examine user-generated comments from YouTube videos, including trailers and reviews. Data collection was done by systematically selecting comments based on popularity, relevance, and interaction metrics. The analysis used thematic coding to identify recurring patterns in public discourse. The theoretical framework used includes mass communication theory to understand digital public engagement, feminist theory to explore gender portrayals, and literary theory to contextualize the societal narratives in the film. The results showed diverse opinions, ranging from praise of the Islamic values and moral ideals portrayed in the film to criticism of the passive portrayal of certain female characters. The research highlights YouTube as an interactive public space, reflecting broader cultural dynamics such as religious tolerance and gender roles. Padlet, sebagai salah satu <em>platform</em> digital yang menawarkan kemudahan dalam kolaborasi dan berbagi informasi, telah banyak digunakan untuk meningkatkan interaktivitas dalam pembelajaran. Padlet memudahkan peserta didik dan guru berkolaborasi melalui tulisan, video, gambar, dan tautan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi peran Padlet sebagai media pembelajaran interaktif. Sumber data dalam penelitian ini diperoleh melalui studi pustaka yang mencakup buku, artikel jurnal, dan penelitian terdahulu yang relevan dengan topik. Kajian ini didasarkan pada teori konstruktivisme dan pembelajaran kolaboratif, yang menekankan pentingnya peserta didik terlibat aktif dalam membangun pengetahuan melalui interaksi dan kolaborasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain kajian pustaka dengan metode dokumentasi sebagai teknik pengumpulan data. Analisis data dilakukan secara deskriptif-kualitatif, dengan cara mengidentifikasi, mengkategorikan, dan mensintesis temuan-temuan yang berkaitan dengan penggunaan Padlet dalam proses pembelajaran. Hasil studi pustaka menunjukkan bahwa Padlet bukan hanya mempermudah dalam penyampaian materi, tetapi dapat menjadi inovasi yang signifikan dalam pendidikan, dengan kemampuan untuk mendukung kolaborasi, meningkatkan motivasi, meningkatkan hasil belajar dan memfasilitasi pembelajaran yang lebih dinamis dan kreatif. Media Padlet juga mendukung pembelajaran jarak jauh yang semakin relevan dengan perkembangan teknologi. This research aims to identify the turn-taking strategies utilized by the debate participants in the second America’s presidential debate 2020. The researchers adhered to the theory of Stenström regarding turn-taking strategies. The research design was qualitative. The observational method and note-taking technique were employed to collect the research data. The analytical technique of discourse analysis and coding were performed to analyze the data. The results of this research were displayed descriptively in the form of words to sentences. The turn-taking strategies were taking the turn, holding the turn, and yielding the turn. The results revealed that the taking the turn strategy was frequently utilized by all of the participants in the debate. The interrupting strategy was commonly used by Donald Trump. Joe Biden with starting up strategy. Kristen Welker tended to perform a prompting strategy. Moreover, the silent pauses as the sub-strategy of holding the turn, appealing, and giving up as part of yielding the turn strategy were not found in the data source. The participants tended to avoid silent pauses and tried to take the floor to speak in order to show their dominance. The French Republic is recognized as a country in Western Europe and also characterized by several overseas islands and territories located across other continents. A critical discourse analysis framework developed by Norman Fairclough was applied in this study. Fairclough’s model was also selected due to its emphasis on linguistic analysis to assess sentence coherence. Additionally, coherence and cohesiveness were considered in terms of how words and sentences are combined to construct meaning and understanding through macro and micro structures. The central issue addressed in this research was how the theme of nationalism portrayed in the lyrics of La Marseillaise. In addition, it has a purpose to present the theme of nationalism as embedded in the lyrics of the anthem. To analyze it, qualitative content and descriptive analysis techniques had been employed. For data collection, content analysis procedures were utilized, including note-taking, translation, and consultation of relevant sources. The song La Marseillaise conveys themes of nationalism and patriotism through the interpretation of its lyrics. At the macro level, the lyrics clearly reflect patriotic sentiment by invoking a spirit of resistance and unity among the French people. Meanwhile, the micro-level analysis identified two prominent underlying motives: the motive of struggle and the motive of nationalism. Metode penelitian yang digunakan berupa observasi, penyebaran angket, dan wawancara terhadap peserta didik kelas VIII. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa banyak peserta didik yang telah memahami pengertian teks prosedur dengan baik, tetapi masih kesulitan dalam membedakan jenisnya dan juga menuliskan teks prosedur yang disebabkan oleh faktor kurangnya motivasi dan minat peserta didik. Dengan pendekatan kualitatif dan metode naratif, penelitian ini mendalami pengalaman anak dalam proses pembelajaran bahasa yang dilakukan seorang anak di Desa Paryaman. Teknik pengumpulan data melibatkan observasi, pencatatan, dan perekaman, sedangkan analisis data dilakukan menggunakan metode padan pragmatis. Hasil penelitian ini adalah terdapat faktor yang memengaruhi yaitu faktor internal mencakup keterbatasan kemampuan artikulasi anak pada tahap perkembangan tertentu, dan faktor eksternal meliputi kurangnya perhatian dan stimulasi verbal dari lingkungan keluarga serta ditemukan fenomena substitusi bunyi (sepuluh, keluar, kerbau, keluarga , suara, rumah, memang, sendok), penghilangan bunyi (kerbau), dan penggantian bunyi (bus, kucing, mobil, duit, dan ramai) pada pada huruf konsonan maupun vokal. Tetapi terdapat kata yang dapat diucapkan dengan benar yaitu gendong, awan, cinta, dan senyum. The data were obtained from the video of the speech and comments from netizens on social media platforms. The theoretical framework is based on Searle’s (1979) theory of expressive speech acts, which views such utterances as reflections of the speaker’s psychological state toward a specific situation. This research employed a descriptive qualitative method. Data were collected through documentation and observation, while the analysis involved categorizing netizen responses into positive, negative, and humorous reactions. The findings reveal that the utterance “ndasmu” is a spontaneous emotional expression representing displeasure, which received a variety of responses from the public. Situasi ini menjadikan para intelektual, termasuk pengarang, melakukan perlawanan agar terbebas dari ketertindasan penguasa yang otoriter. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menganalisis formasi dan negosiasi ideologi yang ditemukan di dalam novel Arus Bawah agar dapat dipahami kontestasi ideologi yang dilakukan pengarang sebagai ekspresi kaum intelektual. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan menggunakan konsep Hegemoni Gramsci. Pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik simak. Data dianalisis dengan langkah-langkah, yaitu 1) mengklasifikasikan data; 2) memilih data yang relevan dengan masalah; 3) melakukan analisis data dengan konsep Gramsci; 4) membuat laporan penelitian. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa formasi ideologi antara tokoh Punakawan (refleksi dari masyarakat subaltern) dengan tokoh Pak Kades dan Jogoboyo (refleksi dari penguasa/ pemerintah), yaitu tokoh Punakawan menghadirkan ideologi nasionalis-humanis yang terwujud dalam nilai Pancasila terhadap ideologi dominan yang terefleksi melalui tokoh Pak Kades dan Jogoboyo, yaitu militerisme.
